Strategic Plan ...
Mission: EMPOWERING MERCHANTS AND RESIDENTS TO PROMOTE AND PRESERVE THE JEFFERSON STREET COMMUNITY.
By empowering, we mean that JUMP directors, staff and members use resources wisely and take responsibility to act - individually and collectively – in ways that build their own success and contribute to the development of the community.
By promote, we mean that JUMP directors, staff and members provide and participate in programs, services and communication that foster resident pride, draw positive attention, respectable commerce and responsible development to the Jefferson Street Community.
By preserve, we mean that JUMP directors, staff and members recognize that Jefferson Street is a legendary place with a vital spirit. By honoring the legacy of what has been the JUMP Board of Directors, staff and members are committed to bringing about the best of what is meant to be.
Vision: JEFFERSON STREET IS A SAFE AND SPIRITED COMMUNITY ALIVE WITH HISTORICAL INTEGRITY AND PRODUCTIVE COMMERCE.
Our vision will be realized when:
The beautiful streetscape is busy day and night with people who live, shop, visit, work and play in the Jefferson Street Community.
The residential population increases because people of all income levels have access to quality housing.
Surveys of the employees and students of TSU, Fisk and Meharry show that at least 50% engage in some economic activity on Jefferson Street at least once per week.
